Give your body a good scrub the night before (not the day of) your spray tan. This will ensure the tanning solution has a fresh clean surface which results in a more even looking and long lasting tan. A simple mitt or loofah works just fine.
DO NOT USE Dove soap or Oil of Olay. They can reduce the DHA bronzing reaction and leave a film that leads to an uneven tan. Aveeno body wash or Dr Bronners are the best or a non-oily body wash/shampoo.
For women, shaving your legs should be part of your exfoliation process. If you shave the day of your tan it needs to be at least 12 hours before, to close pores. Shaving post spray will scrape off your newly bronzed tan.
Manicure/Pedicure/Facial/Massage/Wax: BEFORE, BEFORE, BEFORE. Don’t get a spray tan and then soak your feet in a tub of hot water, get a massage, or have wax applied to the skin. It will completely strip the tan.
Make sure all makeup, lotions, sprays, perfumes, moisturizers, and deodorant are off the body before you spray. These items can have a blocking effect to the DHA in the solutions. This often will show up as spots or streaks in your tan.
Wear something loose fitting and dark. Typically we recommend something you don’t care about and that is easy to get on and off. Large t-shirt and pants are great! Don't make plans to go anywhere while the tan processes.
In order to have a tan, you need to expose your skin (according to your comfort level—you can wear underwear or a bathing suit, but keep tan lines in mind). We recommend going topless and wearing tiny underwear or nothing at all.
Out of respect, it's incredibly important that you are on time and ready for your tan. Do not show up late or have not completed the above. The whole process from start to finish will take approx.15-20 mins.
